Sadie Averill is a professionally trained chef, wife, mom, gym rat, passionate foodie, and the author and creator of One Fit Chef. After graduating from Johnson and Whales University and working at different restaurants throughout Denver, Sadie married her sun devil soul-mate and moved from the mystical mountains of Colorado to the intense heat of Arizona to start a life with her husband Erik. Upon arriving in Arizona, Sadie started work at a new restaurant called Virtu under the mastermind chef Gio Osso. Within a few months the restaurant had been named in the top 20 best new restaurants by Esquire magazine. Sadie was like a dry sponge in this new desert, soaking up anything and everything she could learn from the Virtu kitchen and staff. And a lot she learned indeed. From fresh pasta and polpettas (meatballs) to braised octopus, Sadie’s horizons were greatly broadened by her time spent working at Virtu. Although she will be forever grateful for her experience working with the Virtu team, their was a part of Sadie that was yearning to be fulfilled- motherhood.
Nearly a year after leaving Virtu, Sadie and Erik welcomed their daughter Olivia Grace in September 2015. Sadie has always been an avid fitness freak but seeing the results of staying active during her whole pregnancy made her an even bigger advocate of the importance of living a fit and active life. Now as active as ever being a mom, personal chef, and devoted to her fitness, Sadie is excited to share recipes, workouts, and the adventures of motherhood through One Fit Chef.
